Governance Structure

The Board comprises five elected members: Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Treasurer, General Secretary, and Deputy Secretary. The Board meets quarterly and is responsible for strategic oversight, financial governance, and policy decisions.
An independent oversight body that safeguards the core mission and prevents mission drift. Any change to core mission pillars requires a 90% board vote — making our commitment to beneficiaries effectively irrevocable.
All financial records are maintained in accordance with the NPO Act and Companies Act. Annual financial statements are prepared and independently reviewed. Donor funds are used exclusively for approved programmes.
We provide equal services to all individuals regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or HIV status. Our policies are aligned with the South African Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Super-Entrenched Mission Protections

Our constitution contains several "super-entrenched" provisions that are designed to be permanent and unchangeable:

The primary mission of serving homeless persons and those with addiction may never be removed
At least 30% of unclaimed benefits services must always be provided free to indigent clients
The organisation must always maintain its non-profit status
Changing core mission pillars requires a 90% supermajority vote of the full board
